Direct flights to Corvera (Murcia) from across Europe. Airlines, frequencies, and how to get to Hacienda del Álamo Golf Resort from the airport.

Two Airports, One Region

The Murcia region is served by two international airports. For most buyers and residents at Hacienda del Álamo, Corvera (RMU) is the obvious choice — but Alicante (ALC) offers a wider route network and can be the better option depending on your origin.

Corvera International Airport (RMU)

Distance from Hacienda del Álamo: 14 km / approximately 15 minutes by car.

Corvera opened in January 2019, replacing the old San Javier airport. It is a modern, compact terminal designed to handle up to 3 million passengers annually. In practice, it remains pleasantly uncrowded — check-in queues are short, security is fast, and baggage reclaim rarely takes more than 15 minutes.

The airport operates year-round, with a schedule that intensifies significantly during the European winter and spring months — precisely when northern European residents want to escape to the Mediterranean.

Alicante-Elche Airport (ALC)

Distance from Hacienda del Álamo: 85 km / approximately 70–80 minutes by car via the AP-7 motorway (toll-free).

Alicante is one of Spain’s busiest regional airports, handling over 15 million passengers annually. It serves a much wider network of routes and airlines than Corvera, including long-haul connections and budget carriers that do not yet fly to RMU.

For buyers coming from smaller regional airports in Europe, Alicante often provides the only direct option. The drive to Hacienda del Álamo is entirely on motorway and is straightforward.

Routes from the United Kingdom

The UK is the largest source of international residents at Hacienda del Álamo, and flight connections reflect this.

From Corvera (RMU): Ryanair, easyJet, and Jet2 operate direct routes from several UK airports. Typical connections include London Stansted, London Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham, East Midlands, Edinburgh, and Bristol. Frequency varies seasonally: summer schedules offer daily or near-daily flights on popular routes, while winter may reduce to 3–5 flights per week.

Flight time: approximately 2 hours 30 minutes.

From Alicante (ALC): A much wider network, with routes from virtually every UK airport of any size. Year-round daily services on most routes. If your nearest UK airport does not fly to Corvera, Alicante almost certainly does.

Practical advice: Book early for school holiday periods (half-term, Easter, summer). Jet2 typically offers the most generous baggage allowance, which matters if you are furnishing a new villa and bringing items from home.

Routes from Germany

The German buyer segment is growing rapidly in Murcia, and airline connections have expanded to match.

From Corvera (RMU): Ryanair and Eurowings serve Corvera from Düsseldorf-Weeze and Cologne/Bonn. Seasonal routes from Frankfurt-Hahn and Hamburg have operated in recent years and may return or expand.

Flight time: approximately 2 hours 45 minutes.

From Alicante (ALC): More extensive. Direct routes from Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Munich, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Hanover, and Berlin with Eurowings, Ryanair, and Condor. Year-round on major routes.

Practical advice: Eurowings often has competitive fares from Düsseldorf, especially when booked in advance. If you are travelling from Bavaria or southern Germany, Munich to Alicante is your most direct option.

Routes from the Netherlands and Belgium

Dutch and Belgian buyers are among the most active international segments in the Murcia property market.

From Corvera (RMU): Transavia and Ryanair operate from Amsterdam Schiphol and Eindhoven. Service is typically 2–4 times per week, intensifying in spring and autumn.

From Alicante (ALC): Daily flights from Amsterdam (Transavia, KLM, easyJet), Eindhoven (Transavia, Ryanair), Rotterdam-The Hague (Transavia), and Brussels (Ryanair, Brussels Airlines). Also served from Brussels South Charleroi (Ryanair).

Flight time: approximately 2 hours 30 minutes from Amsterdam.

Practical advice: Transavia offers particularly good value on the Amsterdam-Alicante route and frequently runs sales. Eindhoven to Corvera is the fastest door-to-door option for residents in the south of the Netherlands and Belgium.

Routes from Scandinavia

Scandinavian interest in Murcia property has increased significantly, driven by the climate contrast and competitive property prices.

From Corvera (RMU): Norwegian operates seasonal routes from Oslo. Ryanair connects from Stockholm Skavsta in some seasons. Availability varies year to year.

From Alicante (ALC): Far more options. Norwegian, SAS, and Ryanair serve routes from Oslo, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Gothenburg, and Helsinki. Year-round on the most popular routes; enhanced schedules in winter.

Flight time: approximately 3 hours 30 minutes – 4 hours.

Practical advice: For Scandinavian buyers, Alicante is generally the more reliable option in terms of year-round frequency. The 80-minute drive to Hacienda del Álamo is a minor inconvenience compared to the wider choice of airlines and schedules.

Routes from France

From Corvera (RMU): Limited direct service from France to Corvera. Ryanair has operated seasonal routes from Paris Beauvais and Marseille, but these are not always consistent year-to-year.

From Alicante (ALC): Ryanair, Vueling, and easyJet serve routes from Paris (Orly and Beauvais), Marseille, Lyon, Toulouse, Nantes, and Bordeaux. Greater reliability and frequency.

Flight time: approximately 2 hours from Paris.

Getting from the Airport to Hacienda del Álamo

From Corvera (RMU)

The drive is 15 minutes on well-maintained roads. Exit the airport, follow signs toward Fuente Álamo on the RM-2, and the resort entrance is clearly signposted.

Car rental: All major agencies operate at Corvera — Hertz, Avis, Europcar, Enterprise, and several local firms. Pre-booking online is recommended, especially during peak season.

Taxi: A taxi from Corvera to Hacienda del Álamo costs approximately €20–€30. Taxis are available at the terminal exit.

Private transfer: Several companies offer pre-booked airport transfers with meet-and-greet service. Expect €30–€45 for a standard car. We can recommend providers.

From Alicante (ALC)

The drive is approximately 70–80 minutes, entirely on motorway (AP-7 southbound, then RM-2). The route is toll-free and well-signposted.

Car rental: Alicante has a wider selection of rental agencies and typically lower rates than Corvera due to higher volume. The rental car centre is connected to the terminal by a covered walkway.

Private transfer: Pre-booked transfers from Alicante to Hacienda del Álamo cost approximately €90–€130 for a standard car. Worth considering for first visits when you are unfamiliar with the roads.

A Note on Future Connectivity

Corvera airport is still growing. Each year brings new routes and increased frequencies as airlines respond to rising demand in the Murcia region. The airport’s capacity — designed for up to 3 million passengers — means there is substantial room for expansion without congestion.

For resort residents, this trajectory is positive: more routes mean easier access, which in turn supports property values and rental demand. A villa that can be reached door-to-door in under 4 hours from London, Amsterdam, or Düsseldorf is an increasingly attractive proposition.
